To have been called, from the beginning of our Congregation to live in harmony according to the wishes of Jesus Christ, today we are being invited “to be artisans of Justice and of Peace”.
Whatever our work is, whether ministry or mission, “Justice and Peace” become the life blood which sustains them and the heart which keeps them going.
Working for justice and peace at this point in time is a huge human responsibility, both civil and Christian.
With our eyes fixed on the challenges of these times, our lives are committed with our people as we act in favour of the poor, the exploited, the marginalised and rediscover God’s dream in his creation.
This has been the backdrop of the last General Chapter in 2011: “Sisters of St Joseph at the heart of the world”, in the light of which we stated our commitment:
“We are committed to living true and just relations among ourselves, with the “dear neighbour”, with the whole of creation and to pursue our commitment on behalf of justice and peace, in partnership with all those who share this vision”.
In the Congregation and in each Province and Region a team of Sisters is responsible for supporting this common commitment in actions and in prayer.
The presence of one of us in the St Joseph NGO acts as an encouragement for this mission.
